Day 13
Mal 3:2-3 "But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like launderers' soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; NKJV
Today we seem to have lost our taste for the principle of holiness. We focus a lot of energy on getting people saved - which is a wonderful thing - but not much on living a life of purity and righteousness. Unfortunately God has not changed His view of sin and holiness; His standards have not changed at all. He desires that we allow His Holy Spirit to challenge every weakness in own personal lives and urge us to live a cleaner and purer lifestyle than we ever have.
Holiness is not politically correct today. We are all urged by the culture to accept with great tolerance things our parents would have blushed to see. I think a return to personal holiness is a wonderful goal for every Christian. The fiery Evangelist and Pastor Steve Hill says you can tell if something is sin by simply asking, "Would Jesus do this?" Not a bad standard to live by.
Take a personal inventory as 2008 begins. If you find questionable behaviours in your life allow the loving Lord Jesus to refine you a bit with His fire. His hands are loving hands, well worth placing your life in. You'll be so glad you did.
Have a super day,
Pastor Andy
